Our mission is to advance equitable change and promote the well-being of BRIDGEPORT'S CHILDREN, YOUTH, AND FAMILIES through AUTHENTIC PARTNERSHIPS WITH CIVIC, COMMUNITY, AND ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERS .

Our Initiatives

  • EARLY CHILDHOOD

Our goal is to ensure that children are happy, healthy, and developmentally ready for preschool at three years of age.

That means starting early — from birth — since 80% of a child’s brain growth happens by age three. This period of rapid growth lays the foundation for all future learning, behavior, and health.

  • CAREER PATHWAYS

Our goal is to increase youth opportunity and outcomes in high school graduation, postsecondary enrollment and completion, and employment.

We partner with educators, business and civic leaders, faith-based groups, CBOs, state government, and youth-serving entities to provide access to opportunities.

  • Community Engagement

Our goal is to make a collective impact in the community and with community input and design.

We uplift the voices and lived experiences of residents and leaders — known as Community Messengers, Parent and Youth Ambassadors — to strengthen civic infrustructure and transform systems.

  • COMMUNITY RESILIENCE

Our goal is to improve the health and well-being of families and create a stronger future for all generations.

We raise awareness of the impact of toxic stress and trauma on health and life outcomes and provide tools for building social-emotional health and resilience to increase positive childhood experiences.

All children and families deserve an equitable opportunity to thrive, leading to stronger communities.

“When we are willing to work not with community but in community, that is when transformation is possible.” — Stacey Abrams
