Our mission is to advance equitable change and promote the well-being of BRIDGEPORT'S CHILDREN, YOUTH, AND FAMILIES through AUTHENTIC PARTNERSHIPS WITH CIVIC, COMMUNITY, AND ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERS .

Our Initiatives

The background shows a large calendar for April 2023 with photos and weather info, and an alphabet wall with pictures of objects starting with each letter.

    EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE & EDUCATION

Our goal is to build a strong foundation at birth for lifelong learning and ensure that children are happy, healthy, and developmentally ready for preschool at three years of ageand ready for Kindergarten.

That means starting early — from birth — since 80% of a child’s brain growth happens by age three. This period of rapid growth lays the foundation for all future learning, behavior, and health.

    YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

Our goal is to increase youth opportunity by providing access to opportunities for civic engagement, leadership, and career pathways for better outcomes in high school graduation, post-secondary enrollment and completion, and employment.

We partner with educators, business and civic leaders, faith-based groups, CBOs, state government, and youth-serving entities to provide access to opportunities.

    COMMUNITY RESILIENCE

Our goal is to address the root causes of academic inequity by equipping communities with the tools to build resilience, align support systems, and drive long-term economic mobility through educational success.

We raise awareness of the impact of toxic stress and trauma on health and life outcomes and provide tools for building social-emotional health and resilience to increase positive childhood experiences.

All children and families deserve an equitable opportunity to thrive, leading to stronger communities.
